What do I need to do if I deferred VAT payments during Covid?

Did you defer payment of your VAT bills during the Covid-19 crisis? If you did, then you need to be aware of the following information.

This is a new payment scheme that will help businesses with deferred VAT to pay what they owe in smaller, monthly instalments from March, interest-free.

The scheme is now open. You can choose to make from 2-11 monthly payments, depending on when you join. The later you join the fewer instalments are available to you so if this is something applicable to you, it's best to join as soon as possible.

It is a simple online service and there is no need to contact HMRC. The online service will close on 21‌‌ ‌June 2021 – if you want to join the scheme online, you must do so before this date. More details are available from GOV.UK.
